I'm really irritated. I was almost done with my leftovers when Blogger had to refresh, and I lost them. ARGH! I'll probably forget half of what I wrote the first time, but here we go...
•Happy Earth Day, on this Good Friday. Not only did Jesus die for our carbon transgressions, but also for all of our sins.
•As I was playing with HJ and watching him smile at me, I thought how happy I am that I'm not God because if I had to give up my son to save all of mankind, you'd all die and go to hell.
•I am incredibly exhausted. I have gotten three to four hours of sleep each of the past few nights. Consequently, I have been nodding off nursing and anytime I'm sitting.
•Want to know how exhausted I am? I changed HJ's diaper the other day. I then put him down, threw the diaper away, grabbed him and changed his diaper. A little bit later, I was wondering how Alice's diaper could be leaking?! Gee, I wonder!
•Do you know that breast pads don't work when you put the absorbent side away from you? Twice I have done that this week, and woken up soaking wet and in a puddle of breast milk.
•My mom made a comment the other day (in reference to having my hands full) that if I had a third I'd just be depressed. Umm, no. I might go crazy from the chaos, but I wouldn't be depressed. That explains why she was a crappy mother...at least until she just quit parenting.
•When I told Sean about what my mom said, he agreed that that explains everything. Then he went on to say that anyone who has more than two kids is selfish. We should just repopulate ourselves. WTH?! I think this comes from his parents (he and his sisters spent the majority of their youth with other relatives and apart from each other) and their lack of involvement, love, etc.
•HJ is now rolling both ways from tummy to back, and can use his forearms to lift himself up. He's grounded! Growing up too fast is now a mandatory grounding!
•We are forecasted for thunderstorms for the next week. Why don't you just pee in my Wheaties too, Mother Nature?
•Thank you for all of your suggestions yesterday! I will be trying them out and seeing what works. I'll update soon :-)
•I realize a lot of you really don't know a lot about me. I know I'm usually talking about the kids (they're mine and I like talking about them), but there is more to me than mom-dom. Is there anything you'd like to know?
For more leftovers, visit Danifred! Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!
I am a very laid-back individual. I wasn't always like that, but through the years I've learned to pick and choose my battles. Perhaps I'm a bit lazy too. Maybe that is why I'm so laid-back ;)

Happy Belated Mother's Day...
...to all the beautiful Mothers* out there! I hope that your husbands, fathers, daughters, sons, mothers, grandparents, and all other loved ones made your day lovely!
I would have posted this yesterday, but I was extremely busy. I know a lot of you moms out there realize that a mother's work is never done. I slept in a bit (Thanks Alice!!!) and woke up to Sean making me breakfast (nothing fancy; just an omelet and coffee). He also got me a box of chocolates. I could complain about this, but I'm really just surprised that he got me anything. And while I can think of a million other things that I would like more, I'm just really flattered that he got me something! I love you, Sean!
Back to my day... I proceeded to do umpteen-million loads of laundry. Okay, it was more like 12, but still. I completely spring-cleaned the bathroom (EVERYTHING-including blinds, curtains, shower liner/curtain, walls, etc.). We could eat on any surface in our bathroom, if we wanted. Not that I would allow that, but just sayin'.
I started spring cleaning in the living room. Mostly, I only got the area rug cleaned (been wanting to do this for a LONG time) and put up Alice's swing (again, been meaning to do this for a few months). Then I organized Alice's toys and the bookshelf with all the movies/books. Of course, they are no longer in the order I put them in, as Alice has a fascination with pulling everything off the bookshelf.
Then Alice and I went outside, where I planted a ton of bulbs and seeds in my newly tilled "flower bed" (it is all around the barn). And then the biggest project... clean out my car. WOAH! I have been meaning to do this for months... perhaps over a year. I vacuumed, cleaned the windowns, cleaned the carpet/upholstery/ceiling, and it looks sooooo good.
My father came over mid car cleaning, and I proceeded to clean his windows and vacuum out his car. Then he grilled steaks for us (I made scalloped potatoes, broccoli, and carrots)... and we ate a very good dinner. He brought over lemon meringue pie for dessert. YUCK! I HATE meringue. I don't know what it is about it, but I can't stand it. I didn't say anything to him. I just ate it (or tried to-I gave most of the meringue to Alice... I *think* she liked it). Actually, I do know what it is about meringue that I don't like... the texture. It is like tapioca in my mouth (another thing I DO NOT like).
So I didn't have a relaxing day, but I got a lot of stuff done that I wanted and had been meaning to do for awhile. Today, I am incredibly sore. But my car is clean!
How was your Mother's Day? Or if you aren't a mother*, what did you do for the mothers in your life?
*And by mothers, I mean any woman who has had a child, become pregnant (regardless of the outcome-we just ended Infertility Awareness week), or any woman who mothers/babies/takes care of you.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Patty's Day!
I never have quite understood why they say "luck of the Irish" because, in my opinion at least, the Irish are not a very lucky group of people. Though if you think about it from a different stand point, then I suppose they are. They didn't all die out during the potato famine, or get killed off from the Vikings... so I suppose they are lucky in a way.
Which brings about another point. I am part Irish; for sanity-saving reasons on my part, I will not be figuring out what percent exactly. We'll just say 1/4 or 1/8. I also seem to have the "luck of the Irish", as I am not a very lucky person. Ahh, but I am at the same time ;)
Today is Sean's "birthday". Apparently, he is going to change his birthday information on Facebook for every holiday. He didn't have to work this morning, and he asked me what I was going to make him for his "birthday" breakfast. I told him I would give him a cup of coffee and an apple muffin (which I baked the other day). I have things to do people! I typically make him breakfast on the weekends, and usually I make some kind of bread or muffins, for quick grab breakfasts during the week.
I am a busy, working mother. I drive about 150 miles a day; which puts Alice and I in the car for about 3 hours (well she is in the car for about 2). Wednesday is bottle/pump washing day. Then there are the animals (5 hens, 1 rooster, 3 rabbits, 2 cats). Then I have to pack up diaper bags, get everyone cleaned up and dressed, pack my lunch/dinner, somewhere in between all of that I find time to play with Alice, and then pack up the car. Do you know that I have to make 3 trips out to the car before we can leave everyday? I have my bag (which has my lunch, water, snacks, books/magazines, etc.), my pump, the diaper bag, this bag/mat (it folds up to a bag but unfolds to a playmat) with toys in it, then there is Alice and me. I am a pack mule.
Random story: the other day I was thinking about how I needed to take Alice's mobile down, as she has been standing/pulling up for awhile. I thought it was odd that she hadn't tried to play with it or hang on it, so I made a mental note to take it down the next time she wasn't sleeping. Well that next morning, I heard a loud noise and went running in there. There she was, mobile in hand with only half of the bears! She apparently decided she needed more stuffed animals in her crib and grabbed two off...which snapped the mobile in half. That is the last time that I ever think again!
Til next time! Oh and if you have any suggestions for my blog, please let me know. I love feedback and comments. And I promise I will put up some pictures, more info, and get this blog looking snazzy!
